Abstract

It is well known that C/M0S has been adopted widely in watch-use quartz oscillators. This paper tries to indicate one of the approaches to the design of watch-use oscillation circuits by reviewing the behavior of a C/MOS oscillator in a physical manner. For the starting voltage and the starting time for oscillation, a linear approximation method allows their analytical expressions. The current drain is one of the important factors in the watch-use oscillation circuits, and in the latter half of this paper its temperature characteristics are discussed. Its large dependence on temperature mainly attributes to the threshold voltage in C/M0S which varies with temperaturs.
