Abstract
Performance profiling has been widely used, as a means to diagnose a cause at the time of occurrence of performance anomaly. The method of operating data sampling, data storing, and analysis in a VM monitor has been proposed as a performance profiling system for virtual machines. This method operates this series of profiling processing just one time. On the other hand, in order to detect performance anomaly of a computer, a continuous operation of the performance profiling processing is needed. It stores and analyzes sampling data periodically. Moreover, it is important to shorten the data sampling stall time which occurs during periodical storing of sampling data. Therefore, this paper describes the decentralization of the performance profiling system, as the structure for continuous performance profiling, and describes, as the method of reducing data storing processing, the priority processing technique and the concurrent operation technique. Finally, the findings of evaluation are presented.
