Description

Titanium alloys are high mechanical properties. Titanium alloys are applied to the fields of aviation, medial, automobile, and construction, in which products are made of processed metals. However, Titanium is inferior in low thermal conductivity, causing a charge of heat when it is being cut. That is why tools wear more quickly than other alloys do. For this reason, I focused on cutting fluid so as to solve this problem. If I can make cutting fluid capable of absorbing heat more effectively, the problem might be solved. Therefore, in this study, I am going to examine the effects of coolant on the turning process of Titanium alloy. A new cutting fluid was prepared by replacing the water used as the dilution water with the reforming water with small surface tension. The particle diameter of the oil agent was measured to ascertain what kind of liquid it was. Then, the liquid was actually used for cutting. We confirmed whether various effects of new cutting fluid are available.
