Abstract
<p>Conjugated conducting polymers have attracted much attention as low-cost and solution-processible materials for various electronic devices. Here, a review of the polymers used for typical polymeric devices such as light-emitting diodes, field-effect transistors and solar cells is given. The structures and optical and electric properties of thin films of such polymers are discussed. Polarons, which are the charge carriers in such materials and devices, are also discussed.</p>
