Abstract

<p>The production of digital cameras, which started in 1985, surpassed the production of conventional film cameras in number in 2000. Now, the word “camera” usually referes to a digital camera. The digital camera is introduced, the particular technology currently used in it is explained, and the relation with applied physics is discussed for each item.</p>
