Abstract

The superconducting in metal is a quantum phenomenon that is realized by the condensation of the electron pairs at low temperature. In heavy nuclei, protons and neutrons also exhibit properties of the superfluidity caused by their pair condensation. The numerical simulation of reactions for such superfluid nuclei was considered to be impractical, because of its enormous required computational resources. Recently, we have developed a new approach, "canonical-basis time-dependent mean-field theory", which succeeds to significantly reduce the computational cost. Using this new method, it is expected to reveal complex reaction mechanism of superfluid nuclei.
