Description

Mazda is driving its "Building-Block Strategy" to reduce CO2 emissions and to enhance fuel economy. Based on the prediction that the internal combustion engine will remain the key power technology in the global car market, we will propel the strategy to balance optimal control technologies and efficient electrification technologies, as pursuing the ideal internal combustion engine.

In order to realize a human-centered electric technology while offering excellent environmental performance to all customers, All-New Mazda3 has introduced the newly developed "M Hybrid" technology. Regeneration of deceleration energy and motor assist contribute to elevate fuel efficiency. Quick restart and shift assist improve drivability as well. Furthermore, we have achieved the packaging contributing ideal weight distribution and low gravity center without sacrificing roominess. In this article, we introduce the core technology "M Hybrid"; M Hybrid battery, Integrated Starter-Generator (hereafter abbr. ISG), and DC/DC converter.
