Abstract

Recently, the number of patients with taste disorders has been increased in Japan. In this study, to clarify the cause of spontaneous abnormal taste sensation, saliva was evaluated using a taste sensor. The results showed that this taste sensor enabled the evaluation of the taste of saliva. Moreover, it was found that human saliva varies in taste qualities. Therefore, the differences in the taste of human saliva may be influenced by individual perceptions of taste.
