Abstract

An increase of the lifelong-learning motivation of senior citizen is changing a focus of life-span development study of psychology to a perception development issue of the aged. However, still past study stands on that children of 9 to 13 years old are in the typical development stages of forming their future carrier and the occupational consciousness. Therefore, it is considered that whether a person expects teleworking style or not may be influenced by how each individual has formed his/her self occupational outlook through education in school age. Based on this, the author conducted a survey of 112 primary schoolchildren to determine their preference for collective work to work-at-home model. As a result, for 48 children who wish to work for company and/or public institution, 77% of them answered that they desire to commute and work together with colleagues even when telecommuting is possible and admitted by employer. Moreover, the ratio increased gradually as school year goes up. It was also made clear that the ratio rose even higher if schoolchildren's favorite job is not taken into consideration. Reasons were analyzed from answers to an open-ended question by using morphology and keywords importance measuring system. Thus, his paper sketches the future research agenda regarding relationship between education in school age and telework penetration.
