Description

This paper examines how Hideaki Ishikawa related to the postwar planning at Azabu-Juban area in Tokyo. By studying the process of the project in the terms of Ishikawa's idea, the transition of the project and the significance were shown. The findings are as follows; 1) Ishikawa deal with Azabu-juban as reserved place for postwar planning. 2) The project in Azabu-juban included an arrangement of plaza, carving streets, and gathered theaters, just as Ishikawa stated in his theory about shopping districts.
