Description

<p>In this study, a small scale demonstration plant was manufactured to produce upgraded wood fuel by torrefaction. The plant consists of rotary-kiln type oven and ring-die type pelletizer. We examined the automatic temperature control the rotary kiln and productivity of pellet by additives. Then image of commercial scale torrefaction plant where local community can operate was proposed. Torrefied fuel can be applied not only for larger scale power generation but also for smaller scale usage such as cooking and heating in restaurants, outdoors and emergency.</p>
