 A survey has been carried out on characteristics of amplitudes and periods of seiches observed around Japan.<br> The larger is the mean period, the smaller is the standard deviation of normalized amplitudes. The averaged normalized amplitude asymptotically approaches 1.0 as the frequency of normalized periods increases not depending on stations or periods.<br> Nakai et al.(2017) classified 65 tidal stations of JMA(Japan Meteorological Agency) into three types with the sharpness of probability density functions of seiche amplitudes and the similarity coefficients of seasonal variations. In this paper, probability density functions of five stations of the Ports and Harbours Bureau have been calculated and they showed good agreement with Type A proposed by Nakai et al.(2017). It became clear by analyzing the data of the Ports and Harbours Bureau that as for stations whose amplitudes are small, the probability functions calculated with data more than 5 cm do not necessarily express the true values.
