Abstract

Parasitoids that emerged from the cocoons of Hypera postica were surveyed. The cocoons were collected from Astragalus sinicus and Vicia angustifolia in Tsukuba and Tsukubamirai Cities, Ibaraki, Japan, in May 2006 and May 2007. Seven ichneumonids, Agrothereutes grapholithae, Itoplectis alternans epinotiae, Scambus (Scambus) rubrigaster, Gambrus ruficoxatus, Bathythrix kuwanae, Gnotus hyperaei and Gnotus sp., two pteromalids, Trichomalopsis shirakii and Dibrachoides sp., and one tachinid, Bessa parallela were found. We report for the first time that G. ruficoxatus and T. shirakii are the parasitoids of H. postica. Percent parasitisms of the cocoons were 2.8 and 4.3% in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Both A. grapholithae and I. alternans epinotiae parasitized predominantly.
