Description
Although KOSEN first-year students need to improve their competence for self-management and interpersonal relationship, teachers could afford to train those skills during usual lectures. Therefore we employed approaches that would develop the competence through homeroom activities, because self-management and in interpersonal skills can be the important parts of fundamental competence of Active Learning and function to develop autonomous students. Based on the analysis of efficiency of Foresight Datebook instruction and the results of self-assessment on Fundamental Competencies for Working Persons, our strategy produced some positive results for the students. This study aims to discuss the advantage of homeroom activities, focusing on datebook instruction in establishing students’ basic skills for Active Learning.
