説明
We studied the relation between the biophoton emission rates and blood flow in the human hand using highly sensitive PMTs. Biophotons from the left and right palms of a human were simultaneously measured while pressure was applied on the left upper arm. The pressure applied by a tourniquet ranged from under-diastolic pressure to over-systolic pressure. The biophoton emission rate from the left palm decreased as the pressure on the arm increased. Beyond a certain pressure, no considerable change was observed. While applying pressure, a decrease in the temperature of the left palm was detected. However, the correlation between the change in temperature and biophoton emission was not strong. Biophoton measurements can be utilized to study the function of the human cardiovascular system with relative ease.
