Abstract

A 43-year-old Japanese man presented with a blackish keratotic nodule on the dorsum of the right great toe. He had a 20-year history of type 2 diabetes mellitus with triopathy. Biopsy of the nodule revealed epitheliomatous hyperkeratosis and prominent acanthosis without cellular atypia in the epidermis. Based on these findings, we diagnosed him with verrucous skin lesions on the feet due to diabetic neuropathy. It healed within three months by repeated shaving of horny material and off-loading by medical felt. We report an important case of verrucous lesions on the foot that was treated by off-loading.
