<p>In this study, we search modality in the western part of Hakodate city and the effect of extension of private commodities on modality. First, we did experiment to search for modality. Next, we classified the streets used in the experiment into 3 types according to alley degree. In this study, alley means “Roji” in Japanese. Even on the street with the same degree of alley, there were differences modality. It became clear that modality is different depending on quantity and quality of extension of private commodities.</p>
