Abstract

The breeders' rights which is one of the intellectual property rights on mushrooms (intellectual property right as a result of breeding registration under the Seeds and Seedlings Law) has not been widely known except for seed culture manufacturers, major mushroom industries, and some mushroom producers. In order to contribute further development and enhancement of Japanese mushroom industry, I explained the following matters. * About the Seed and Seedling Law * Revision process of Seeds and Seedlings Law * Technical challenges for border control (Copy of strains) of infringing strain * Outline of cultiver registration system * On copy of strains by farmers * About verification / falsification methods at infringement * UPOV (Union Internationale pour la Protection des Obtentions Végétales) and UPOV Convention * Promotion of registration of mushroom cultivar in China and Korea for urgent countermeasures to prevent outflow of plant cultivar * Chinese product type protection application manual (overview) * Korean product type protection application manual (overview) * About the Seed and Seedling Low and Seed Law
