Abstract
Many cities in America and Canada have the priority ranking systems for traffic calming projects in residential roads to select the traffic safety measures sites considering the costs and the various requests of people. These systems can solve the confused situations for administrative when a lot of requests from residents occur and play an important role to explain the process of selecting the traffic safety measures sites. This study aim to introduce the point ranking system to select the traffic safety measures sites in Japan. So, we analyzed questionnaires to know what items and weight regarding to traffic environments in residential streets should be used for scoring.
