Abstract

Bulk vanadium oxide-based NH3-SCR catalysts were considered for denitration at a low temperature below 150oC. Vanadium oxalate as a precursor was calcined at 270oC for 1-4 h to synthesize vanadium oxide catalysts including tetravalent and pentavalent vanadium atoms. The NO conversions and reaction rates of these catalysts for NH3-SCR were greater than those of titania supported vanadium oxide catalysts and V2O5 catalyst that consist only of pentavalent vanadium. It was indicated that the existence of tetravalent vanadium leads to a decrease in the activation energy.
