Abstract
<p>This research is intended to find the sectional property and the arrangement of shear connectors of the non-composite girder in which the composite action of the shear connectors is taken into accountand the components of the girder satisfy their required limit states. Therefore, the rigid-body-spring model analysis is conducted to simulate the behavior of the non-composite girders. In this analysis, the material nonlinearity of the concrete, steel material and shear connectors is considered. The behavior of a simple and a continuous non-composite girder with slab clamps or headed studs as a shear connector is investigated, and the responses are compared with the limit states at serviceability and safety conditions.</p>
