Description

As for environmental radiation contamination, nuclear fuel coolant radioactive contamination and that from radioactive debris etc., due to the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant that accompanied the Great East Japan Earthquake, the portable type conventional detection system of 90Sr has been strongly waited. Presently 90Sr is a main radioactive nucleus, the half-life of which is 28 years and radiation by 90Sr is β-ray only. A portable-type detection system which is capable of measuring the radioactivity concentration of 101 to 107 Bq/kg, together with the β-ray spectrum, has been developed successfully by means of β-γ discrimination technique.
