<p>The purpose of this study is to examine how natural disasters affected the economies of the stricken area and other areas of Japan. Using the interregional input-output table, we analyzed the forward linkage in order to measure the impacts through the fluctuation in farm, forestry and marine products : the difference in the stricken area. We examined the case of the Kumamoto Earthquake. As a result, we found that the factor making the total effect of the supply-side linkage greater is not the distance between the stricken area and the metropolitan area but rather the strength of industrial linkage.</p>
