説明
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the process of how adventitiously blinded persons take it granted for using white cane through the effect of significant others using interview as a method. Based on the life-story approach, it is found that adventitiously blinded persons have chances of attaining disability acceptance by through of encountering a significant other. Analyzing the effects of significant others, it’s also found that the effects are mainly consist of two functions; person-oriented and group-oriented support. As result, person-oriented support provided by the same blinded community has a strong effect on the use of white cane by through of the choices of assimilation or disassimilation for the community, which makes a divergence on the process of using white cane.
