Description

The free market system may have an “invisible hand” adjusting prices, but the invisible hand of adjustment will not work to reduce resource depletion and wastes. In oil states, people are relatively poor because the distribution of wealth is one-sided. Social movements are powerless to provide correction. Japanese government has lost its leadership of the people, so the government cannot restrain the energy consumption in the Japanese market that is increasing without intermission. The shadow of a similar destiny is cast over oil-less Japan and the oil states, both of which are unable to form active agents of poiicy against coming danger.
