Abstract

Novel bisnaphthylquinone compounds (BNQ), were designed as an electron transport material for fabricating single-layered organic photoconductors (OPC) useful for positive charging. These compounds, which have an expandedπ-conjugated plane of the diphenoquinone derivative, have an appropriate electron-accepting property and high electron-transporting performance for phthalocyanine pigments, and have high compatibility with polycarbonate resins. The application to an electron transport material for a single-layer photoreceptor was studied. In the positive charging process of reversal development, a negative charge is applied to the photoreceptor during transfer, and when the electron transport material has low electron transport performance, a negative charge remains in the film, causing a memory phenomenon. In order to solve this problem, we confirmed the effect of using BNQ to reduce the potential and memory for images, and found that it can be used without any practical problems compared to conventional electron transport materials.
