Abstract

The integrated exercise course, Integrated Pharmaceutical Exercise I—wherein pharmacotherapy case studies are used for problem-based learning—was implemented on 300 fourth-year students at the Faculty of Pharma-Science, Teikyo University. In 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, classes were held online using an online meeting system, which has a breakout room feature that is useful for small group discussions, and two learning management systems. We did not change the case scenario and content of the exercises, and ensured that all students attended the classes. No difference was observed in the learning outcomes or satisfaction derived from online classes when compared with that from face-to-face classes.
