Abstract

Gaze input has a problem which is called Midas Touch Problem. It is a problem which the system is unable to discriminate the intention of the user from eye-gaze. Authors propose a method which uses the screen button and saccade in order to solve the Midas Touch Problem. This paper evaluates the accuracy of the method when a user selects icons. Two sizes of an icon are used in the paper to measure an error rate. One size is decided by the accuracy of a gaze measuring device. Other size is decided from the icon which is used in handheld devices. Moreover, This paper evaluates the saccade undetected rate when a saccade threshold is changed.
