<p>The startup ecosystem supported by Japanese universities has been rapidly developed in recent years. Above all, the “Public-Private Innovation Program (Kanmin-innovation program)” by the four major national universities, including the “POC fund” and “university VC”, has grown into a center of entrepreneur support system at universities. Meanwhile, the design and governance of the operation have a great influence on the results. In addition, in order to continuously create deep-tech ventures from universities, it is extremely important for more doctoral degree holders to play an active role in the industries. Not only will it develop the environment for creating university ventures, but it will also lead to the development of Japanese industry.</p>
