Description
<p> Nitrogen component in sewerage treatment plants was noticed as a new energy source. Based on the statistics of sewerage systems(2017 edition), the nitrogen balance in sewerage treatment plants was investigated, and it was shown that the nitrogen component of about 0.484 million tons / years had flowed in, and when this nitrogen component was recycled(ammonification(about 0.588 million tos-NH3 / years)), the energy potential of about 3.68 billion kWh / years existed. This amount of energy was equivalent to about 57.1% of the amount of electricity used in sewage treatment plants (about 6.44 billion kWh / years), excluding sludge treatment plants and pumping plants, and it was considered significant to utilize the energy derived from nitrogen flowing into sewage treatment plants. However, since it is difficult at present to effectively utilize all nitrogen flowing into a sewage treatment plant, it has been shown that in order to efficiently recover and utilize energy derived from nitrogen in a sewage treatment plant, it is important to target sludge in which nitrogen components are concentrated and further recover nitrogen components present in a solid content of sludge.</p>
