Abstract

This paper presents a novel shape reconstruction method based on the time-reversal technique for the purpose of quantification of the ultrasonic non-destructive testing. The topological sensitivity is used to identify the shape and position of defects in an elastic solid. The convolution quadrature time-domain boundary element method (CQBEM) is utilized to obtain radiation fields from a matrix array transducer, and waves scattered by defects. Some shape reconstruction results are demonstrated to verify the proposed method.
