Abstract
<p>This study clarifies the examination about neighborhood unit theory in the Architectural Institute of Japan Housing Issues Committee and the Japan Life Science Institute Architectural Subcommittee during World War II. The neighborhood unit theory introduced during the war was the prototype of postwar city planning standards.</p>
