Abstract
<p>The micro-capsule fragrance has been becoming popular technique on detergent and softening agents in Japan. This research conducted to detect the fragrance (odor) chemicals in house dust which might come from softening agent. Gas chromatography olfactometry (GC-O) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) were employed to identify the odor chemicals in house dust. As the result of GC-O analysis, 7th of odor activities which were commonly found both of house dusts and softening agents were detected. Those odor activities were tentatively identified as isopropyl 3-methylbutanoate,tridecanal,and hexyl salicylate by GC-MS analysis and database searching. It is the first repot to demonstrates the odor chemicals in house dust which come from the softening agents.</p>
