- Research on the resource room for preschoolers with developmental disabilities in kindergartens and nursery schools

Description
We are going to focus on “KOTOBA NO SOUDANSHITSU”,institution for speech-disordered child, as a specified resource in the regional early support system for preschoolers with developmental disabilities. In this paper, the characteristics of the resource room were studied to clarify its current status. Data were obtained from questionnaires completed by the staffs of the resource room. Thus, it has been clarified that the resource room has placed great significance on the developmental counseling for parents and has faced the problem of overcapacity due to the increase of resource room users. Furthermore, the following matters were discussed as significant factors necessary to provide a good resource room for preschoolers with developmental disabilities : (1) the developmental counseling for parents and (2) the effectiveness of the resource room in the regional early support system for preschoolers with developmental disabilities.
