Description

From a past experiment result, negative contents were judged "come true" than positive contents about fortune telling. In order to search for the factor to explain this result in detail, a diary method was used and examined. Study 1, fortune-telling sentences were distributed, and occurred events and the contents judged as "come true" were recorded. There were many positive occurred events, but the contents that were judged as "come true" were negative. Moreover, On judging the content to have "come true", the recollection style of the content (Are these contents recollected without seeing fortune telling or with the fortune telling?). Excluding the influence of the belief, former style affects "come true" judgement, Therefore, In Study 2, the fortune-telling media that participants had contacts within a certain period were recorded, and the importance of style of fortune-telling use and voluntary recollection were examined.
