説明

The purpose of this study is to identify the structure of the Tokyo metropolitan area by using small area statistics. A Metropolitan area is the sphere that has a strong relationship between downtown and suburbs. Also, there is some kindred area within the same Metropolitan area. Specifically, we estimate the Tokyo Metropolitan area using Anselinʼs Local Moranʼ s Index. As a result, we showed clearly that the Tokyo Metropolitan area is degenerating from 2000 to 2005. Moreover, we investigated change of the store location characteristic in this period. As a result, we showed that the fall of a commercial function is more serious out of the Tokyo Metropolitan area.
