Abstract

In this study, the scoring of the shading responses in the Rorschach Test and the 'Symptomwert' i. e. psychological importance of them are discussed. Especially the methods of Binder, Klopfer and Exner are focused. In the process of producting shading responses, the two elements are conected too complicatedly to be put in order. The two elements are (a) blot charactaristics, (b) shading sensitivity, e. g. (i) texture/warmth/tactile impression, (ii) feeling of three dimension, (iii) vagueness or diffusion which reflects free-floating anxiety. After this review, an adequate scoring system of the shading responses must be built. And using such scores, further discussions are hoped through both nomothetic researches and idiographic case studies from a point of view of Hermann RORSCHACH's 'das Formale'.
