様々な技術が発展した現代において写真撮影はその手段,保存ともに容易で身近なものとなっている。子育てにおいても写真撮影やアルバム作成といった行為は行われてきたが,写真を撮り,アルバムを作成することが育児に対してどのような影響があるのかは研究されていなかった。そこで家庭環境や家族の形態が変化した現代において,写真撮影が育児や保護者に与える影響について検討を行った。この結果,多くの家庭で,写真を撮影する機会は多数あるが,写真を現像したり,現像アルバムを所持している家庭は少数であった。一方でアルバムを作成している家庭においては,子育てに対して肯定的感情を持つ家庭ほど,より多くの写真アルバムを制作していた。この結果は,アルバムの作成が子育て・家庭環境にとって良い影響を与えている可能性を示唆している。

In our modern age in which diverse technologies have evolved, taking and storing photos has become easier and more routine. People have always taken photos and made albums of their children growing up but there has not been any research on the effects of creating these albums on childcare. Consequently, we investigated the effects of taking photos on childcare and parents/guardians in this modern age of changed family environment and composition. The results showed that there were many opportunities to take photos for most families but that there were few families who actually developed photos or had photo albums. Meanwhile, among families who had created albums, the more the family had positive feelings towards bringing up children, the more photo albums they produced. These results suggest that creating albums has the potential to have a good effect on bringing up children and the family environment.
