Abstract

世の中の毀誉褒貶に動かされることなく,神霊の活火を燃やし,深遠な真理を求め続けた【高木壬太郎】の,牧師･主筆･教育者として歩んだその人生をたどってみたいという思いに駆られてから30年の歳月が過ぎました。 本稿は,先に『聖学院大学論叢』に発表した「若い日の高木壬太郎」(11巻3号),「高木壬太郎の足跡をたどって―1889年〜1898年―」(15巻1号),「高木壬太郎の事績を尋ねて―1898年〜1904年―」(21巻2号)の続きです。 40歳から42歳までの,躍動する姿を追ってみました。

Thirty years ago I gravitated to the pure character of Mizutaro TAKAGI (1864-1921) and began to study his career. Mizutaro was faithful in the pursuit of truth as a pastor, an editor and an educator, caring neither for praise nor blame. This essay is a continuation of Mizutaro TAKAGI's Footprints published in 1999. This essay is an interm report of his life-long search for truth which covers the years 1904-1906.
