Description

This paper compared The “desired type of business” and “image of the future” of high school students using the results of a questionnaire survey. The tow results of the main analysis were as follows. First, it was confirmed that males tend to be hopeful about entering companies in the secondary and tertiary industries, while females tended to be hopeful about entering only those in tertiary industries. The differences with regard to “desired type of business” among males are large. On the other hand, among females, a trend was observed wherein the differences in desired type of business were concentrated among a small, specific type of business. Second, the “image of the future” was focused on as a factor that explained the differences between males and females. As a result, it was confirmed that the relation between “desired type of business” and “image of the future” differed significantly between male and females. Further, it can be said that there is a difference in the distribution of the desired types of business because the reasons for the choice vary between males and females.
