Description

The purpose of this research was to clarify the breadth of local consciousness of college students. Results indicated the following. 1) College students in Hokkaido, Niigata, Nagano, Okinawa did not recognize neighboring prefecture as local. 2) Miyagi, Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka were often recognized locally by college students. 3) Even if our prefecture does not recognize neighboring prefecture as local, neighboring prefecture sometimes recognized our prefecture as local. From these results, the following can be considered. 1) In order to capture the local consciousness of college students, not only the result of the area but also the result of the prefecture needs to be noticed. 2) If the neighboring prefecture recognizes our prefecture as locals, the approach to make university students in the neighbor prefecture get jobs in our prefecture can be effective.
