Abstract

The purpose of this study is to clarify the outline of the elementary school teacher’s growth, to examine both his lesson plans which is made by Mr. Wataru Okada, and interviews of his life-history. The result of this paper is the following three. 1) He was gradually growing through taking a chance to encounter the mentor teacher at his school. It is important to share time at school. He was able to make lesson plans depending on advices. He began to have positive feelings to teach social studies. 2) He was conscious of understanding children’s learning. He able to make lesson plan connected with the student’s experiences. 3) He gradually makes original lesson plan using theory in social studies teaching. He establishes his own teaching style and reconstructs his views of teaching as perspective transformation.
