Description
Uemura (Uemura) introduced the following two word problems. (1) You have five apples, and you have two more apples than Betty. How many apples does Betty have? (2) Ann has five apples, and she has two more apples than Betty. How many apples does Betty have? He verified that although most preschoolers could solve problem (1), almost none of them could solve problem (2), and he obtained a result that for most preschoolers, problem (1) is much easier to solve than problem (2). In his experiment, as Ann and Betty, he set two persons with whom the preschoolers were not acquainted, respectively. In this paper, however, we obtain a result that if as Ann and Betty, we set their teachers with whom they are acquainted, then the accuracy rates of both problems (1) and (2) are equal.
