The purpose of this paper is to illustrate conflict management through the characters of the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Following a summary of research findings in the area of conflict styles (Kilmann & Thomas, 1977; Ting-Toomey & Oetzal, 2001; et. al), the film and its use of conflict among the characters is then analyzed.The results of this analysis show that constructive conflict management requires appropriate communication and an effective cultivation of the skill of mindfulness.

本論文では，主人公トゥーラや彼女の夫となるイアンが，結婚に向けてどのように様々な衝突と対処してきたのか，彼らのコンフリクト・マネジメントの過程と結果について，ステラ・ティン-トーミィー（StellaTing-Toomey）とジョン・G・エッツェル（JohnG.Oetzel）の理論の枠組みを中心に，その枠組みにあてはめながら検証したいと思う。
