Description
Higher education institutions, not only those serving traditional students entering at the age of 18 but also those responding to the varied needs of students of diverse age groups, are facing the era of declining births and aging. Through recurrent education in the centennial of their lives, higher education is expected to become the “common foundation of knowledge” for all generations. It is necessary for higher education institutions to go beyond the role of higher education, to become the core of the local community, to play the role of bases for platforms of knowledge, and to restructure the new role of Japan to create the future of the region from now on.In this paper the researcher will address the needs of these times and local communities, aim for regional creation, and describe the efforts of Sakura no Seibo Junior College as a higher education institution contributing to the region.
