Abstract

Three derivatives of √צדק are concentrated in Jeremiah 23:5-6. Each of them acquires a new meaning through mutual relationship forming a meaning-world together. The parallel article, Jeremiah 33:15-16, also contains the three derivatives of √צדק collectively. Because of the difference between its context and that of 23:5-6 each of the "words" in 33:15-16 has a meaning different from the "words" in 23:5-6. The "words" gives a variety of nuances according to a context. The conclusion of the consideration is also applicable to the biginning section of the Psalm 72, which belongs to "Loyal Psalms" as Jeremiah 23:5-6 does, and in which derivatives of √צדק are also found, and to the adjoining Psalm71. Because the "word" acquires a new meaning through the context and relationship, it is clear that the Bible, which has various contexts and relationships, always gives a new meaning, whenever it is reread.
