Abstract

This study investigated how comparing the poses of two figures influences the judgment of whether their poses are the same. The results showed that the reaction time when the angle of difference between the two dolls was 0º was lower than that for any other degree; the reaction time when one pose had been presented previously was lower than that when both poses had been presented simultaneously. These results indicate that the participants laterally rotated the mental image of the doll's figure. Moreover, when the model was presented beforehand, the image of the model could be retained in the working memory for a short time.
