Lian Quan (1868-1931) was a poet, collector, publisher, and pro-Republican intellectual who led a colorful life. His collection of Chinese paintings and calligraphy was not only large in quantity, variety, but also high in quality. It was known as the "Little Myriad Willow Hall" collection. This paper focuses on Lian Quan's Letters to Naitō Konan and Nanhu's East Travel Journal, and analyzes Lian Quan's collection of paintings and calligraphy, his activities in Japan and his interaction with The Japanese art circle. Thus, the mystery of the circulation and collection of "Little Myriad Willow Hall" in Japan in the early period of the Republic of China is revealed.
