- On the Personal Expressions in Japanese and Korean

Description
Personal expressions in Japanese have characteristic that resemble those in Korean. However, in actual usage, there are many differences. The following were verified as the result of an analysis of the singular personal expressions: (1)It is more frequent for the personal expressions to be omitted in Japanese than in Korean; (2)"jibun" of Japanese is widely used compared with "jagi" of Korean. The following were verified as the result of the analysis about the plural personal expressions: (3)It is more frequent for the plural suffixes to be omitted in Japanese than in Korean; (4)The plural first person pronoun "uri" of Korean sometimes has the role of shortening the psychological distance with the listener.
