Description

In this paper, we will examine intonation of tag question. In that case, we will take English way of thinking and so on into account. It seems to us that cognitive linguistics has provided very useful insights in almost every field of linguistics. It says in the theory that “when the form has changed, the meaning has changed, too.” I think this principle applies to English intonation, as well. This time, we will focus on the usage of constant-polarity tag question in particular. Finally, we will state a few problems to be solved in the future.
